Understanding Ancestry

Labyrint of the Lost

With the revitalization of the many pagan / wiccan mythologies, Bloodlines seems to dictate which mythology one pursues, whether it’s Norse, Celtic, Slavic, etc. This is OK as a starting point but this also has the adversarial affect of causing separation among pagans when we should be finding unity within our Goddess orientated beliefs.

Ancestry of the Past

According to occult philosophy going back to the Lemurian epoch which was the 3rd great race and the cradle of humanity and with the Atlantean epoch being the 4th great race and the current 5th great race of the current Aryan epoch. There were 16 sub races within these great epochs of evolution. Each sub race in its early development the blood lines were pure and the memories and experiences father mother and grandparents were naturally past down to the child. In the Celtic time this transference of memories was known as second site and even today in India the cast system evolved from these early blood lines in which the son inherits the father’s job.

Max Heindel in the Rosicrucian Cosmo Conception explains it as follows: brain and the nervous system are the highest expression of the desire body. They call up pictures of the outside world, but in mental image-making, i.e., imagination, the blood brings the material for the pictures; therefore when the thought is active the blood flows to the head.

When the same unmixed strain of blood flows in the veins of a family for generations, the same mental pictures made by great-grandfather, grandfather and father are reproduced in the son by the family-spirit which lived in the hemoglobin of the blood. He sees himself as the continuation of a long line of ancestors who live in him. He sees all the events of the past lives of the family as though he had been present, therefore he does not realize himself as an Ego. He is not simply "David," but "the son of Abraham"; not "Joseph," but "the son of David."

By means of this common blood men are said to have lived for many generations, because through the blood their descendants had access to the memory of nature, in which the records of the lives of their ancestors were preserved. That is why, in the fifth chapter of Genesis, it is stated that the patriarchs lived for centuries. Adam, Methuselah and the other patriarchs did not personally attain to such great age, but they lived in the consciousness of their descendants, who saw the lives of their ancestors as if they had lived them. After the expiration of the period stated, the descendants did not think of themselves as Adam or Methuselah. Memory of those ancestors faded and so it is said they died.

On national Geography channel they went to a very old aborigine sacred site in which many mystical symbols were carved in stone. They interview a 84 year old wise women. Suddenly she started delineating the symbols and their meanings and I was totally entranced by her and the knowledge she was conveying. She conveyed this knowledge with such clarity and then I perfectly understood Second Sight. She then went on to say she could feel her father and grandfather spirit with her. This I hope explains our devotion towards Ancestry.

The Problem Today with Ancestry

Ancestry no longer exist today (with maybe the exception of Iceland) do to the many wars and raiding tribes, blood lines have become polluted through inter marriage and especially so in America. Speaking of Ice Land, Norse Mythology is relatively intact compared to all the other pagan societies which was ravaged and destroyed by Christianity. Because of evolution, ancestry that was time honored and reverend in the old days no longer exist today and is not likely to ever return. And what is considered ancestry today is but a pursuit of old knowledge and tradition of the past and unfortunately many seekers get trapped into the past trying to recapture it for the present. We should never forget life is always changing. The Old Goddesses and Gods are as good today as they were yesterday

It is proper to pursue old tradition of various pagan societies, because you might have certain blood lines within a particular society your still void of your parents and grandparents experiences. There never has been cultural Ancestry.

Care must be taken when performing ceremony or ritual and honoring your ancestors because you would be inviting relatives into your circle you may not otherwise want there.
